My 5 “Greatest” Strengths

Posted: March 5, 2015 in @mochavegan

When I was required to take the original Strengths Finder test years ago, I never thought the results would resurface and be a point of interest for potential employers.

The online evaluation was activated using a code included in my copy of Now Discover Your Strengths. The test was a series of questions that sought to identify the top five talent themes for an individual. These strengths are out of 34 patterns (talent themes) identified by the Gallup Organization through 1.7 million interviews.

Here are my top five in order from #1 to #5:

#1 Woo
– one who is able to easily persuade (short for "Winning Others Over")

#2 Strategic
– one who is able to see a clear direction through the complexity of a situation

#3 Responsibility
– one who, inexplicably, must follow through on commitments

#4 Developer
– one who sees the untapped potential in others

#5 Relator
– one who is most comfortable with fewer, deeper relationships

Gallup provides a more thorough description of each talent theme. The original test was now been replaced by Strengths Finder 2.0. The goal is to place each person in professional situations as appropriate as possible to their strengths within the positional limitations.

Maybe you should try it? If you’ve taken the evaluation and would like to share, please do.

Just remember:
"I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me."
